I noticed that the comments are closed on the McKelvey post. Why?
This race is like trying to herd cats. Someone needs to call the SPCA.
There have been some really rational posts about the bottom 3 getting out of the race. I agree, if you are less than 2 weeks away from the primary, and, you have consistently (by most polls) been at the bottom, you need to do the right thing, and please please for the sake of the district stop with the ego trips. Part of the problem is that some got very early endorsements, long before the field grew to what it did, and long before those endorsers knew how their chosen would perform and succeed. Some still in the race are still hanging on those coattails, just as Perriello believes that he still has the coattails of Obama, and the rush to “hope and change” that he promised. How’s that working out for the 5th district? or the country?
In my little old humble opinion, Verga has been hurt by some of his supporters, just as Ron Paul has been hurt more by his supporters than anything else. On the other hand, McPadden has been riding the coattails of the Ron Paul C4L, and they are a very loud and vociferous crowd. Watch the replies to my comments and you will see that for yourself.
After all the debates, and all the posts, and all the “you must support so and so because” it has come down to me to support McKelvey. He has a tremendous amount of support, and, his loan is his own personal property that he will pay back. That is a non-issue, and to say it is otherwise is foolish.
Again, it is like trying to herd cats to get anyone to agree here. The circular firing squad is very much alive and well in the 5th district. Have at it folks.
Would anyone agree that the reason we got stuck with McCain last time was because the field was too too big? Isn’t it true that in that case the most moderate wins?
